SPORTS BETTING RULES

The following rules and regulations are for baseball betting at Betmania Sportsbook:

OFFICIAL GAME TIME:

9 INNING GAME:
  1. A baseball game becomes official for money line wagering purposes after 4 1/2 innings if home team is winning, or 5 innings if visiting team is winning.  Totals and Run lines will have No Action.

  2. For run lines and game totals (over/under), a baseball game becomes official after 8 1/2 innings if home team is winning, or 9 innings if visiting team is winning.

DOUBLE HEADERS

  1. In 2020 the MLB approved 7-inning doubleheaders to be played. With these, games are official after 7 innings of play (6½ innings if the home team is ahead). This includes moneyline, total runs (over/under) and Run Line bets. ( no 1st 5innings line).

EXHIBITION BASEBALL RULES:

  1. Games must go full 5 innings, or 4.5 if the home team is in the lead to qualify as an official game.
  2. After the 5th inning, if an inning is not played to completion, then the score will revert to the previously completed inning unless the home team is leading.
GAME LENGTH CHANGES:

If a standard 9-inning game is scheduled to be played but, before starting, it’s announced it will be shortened to a 7-inning game, then all bets will be null on the original betting lines.
  1. Wagers will also be nullified in the opposite circumstance: a game programmed for 7-innings but switched to 9-innings.
  2. In both cases, bets can be placed once the new odds are put up.
BETS AVAILABLE:

When you place a “money line” wager on baseball you can choose whether or not you would like your bet to have action in the event of a pitching change. The options are:

  1. Listed: both listed pitchers must start.
  2. Selected: the pitcher for the team on which you are betting must start.
  3. Opposing: the pitcher for the opposing team must start.
  4. Action: your bet will have action regardless of pitching changes.

Note: If there is a pitching change and you have selected to keep action on the wager, the odds of your bet will be adjusted to the odds as they stand when the game begins.

All other baseball wagers are accepted as ‘Listed.’ In the event of a pitching change prior to the game, all wagers on the game with said listed pitchers are considered ‘no-action’. All wagers will be refunded to members´ accounts as soon as official confirmation is received allowing you to make the bet again with the new pitcher and the new price if you so wish. Starting pitchers must throw at least one pitch for wager to be deemed ‘Action’. Each team´s starting pitcher is defined for betting purposes as the pitcher who throws the first pitch.

POSTPONED GAMES:

Postponed games must be finished, with an official winner, within these time frames:
  1. MLB: By 5 am (in the respective time zone where the game is played).
  2. NCAA, Softball and International Leagues: Within 36 hours of the scheduled start time. The venue where the game is resumed doesn’t matter.
  3. We do not acknowledge postponed games, protests, or reversed decisions for betting purposes. As long as the game starts (first pitch thrown before midnight in the local time) on the scheduled day, all wagers have action. If bad weather (or similar setbacks) delays the start time past midnight local time, but the game is still contested, all bets will have action.

MLB SUSPENDED / POSTPONED GAMES:

  1. For full game wagers to have action, the game must get to official game time with a winner confirmed by 5 am (in the stadium’s time zone).
  2. If a game is suspended and is not finalized by 5 am, all wagers on the full game will be null and stakes reimbursed. This applies to games that were suspended either before start time, or games suspended during play time.
  3. This rule is invalid during the postseason. All playoffs bets have action as long as the game is finished within 30 days from the originally scheduled date.
  4. All bets placed on markets that already had outcomes determined will have action.

EXTRA INNINGS:

For any baseball game that extends into extra innings, and is postponed or suspended during said extra innings, the wagers will have action if:
  1. The league decides the result at the point of suspension is official.
  2. The game is resumed and finalized by 5 AM (MLB) or in the next 36 hours (NCAA, International & Softball).
Examples:
  1. The score of an MLB game is 10-5 in the top of the 11th inning, with the visiting team leading the scoreboard. The game is suspended, and the MLB determines this score will stand as the final result. All bets placed will have action.
  2. An NCAA game is suspended in the 10th inning, with the score tied 5-5. The NCAA then confirms that the game will be resumed in 6 days. All bets become null since the game won't be finished within 36 hours of the postponement.
RUN LINE BETTING:
  1. Run Lines are the baseball version of the point spread bets. The Run Line adds runs to the underdog. E.g. +1.5 or takes runs from the favorite. E.g -1.5
ALL RUN LINE WAGERS ARE ACTION BETS:
  1. Run Line bets are official after 8.5 innings played if the home team is on the lead, or after 9 full innings if the visiting team is leading.
  2. On the majority of games, there are alternative Run Lines as well, where the favorite is -2.5 runs and the exact same rules are followed.

BETTING ON TOTALS:

  1. You can bet on the over/under for the total of runs scored by both sides combined.
ALL TOTAL PLAYS ARE ACTION:
  1. Bets on the totals are official after 8.5 innings if the home team is on the lead, or after 9 full innings if the visiting team is leading.
FIRST & SECOND HALF BETTING:
  1. In betting, the first half of a baseball game sets from the start of the game until the end of the 5th inning.
  2. The second half is counted from the top of the 6th inning until the last pitch is thrown.
  3. If a game goes into extra innings, all runs scored after the 9th inning will count towards the second half bets.
  4. All first-half bets will have action once the game has 5 innings finished (4.5 if the home team is ahead). If a game is stopped before completing 4.5 or 5 innings, bets will be null unless the game is continued and finished within 36 hours of the originally scheduled start time.
MERCY RULE TREATMENT:
  1. In little leagues, high school and college baseball, there is a mercy rule that states that a game is finished if a team is leading by a very large gap at a specific point in the game (i.e., if an NCAA team is ahead by 15+ runs after 8 innings played).
  2. In case that the mercy rule is used, games are acknowledged as completed for betting purposes, and all bets on moneylines, totals and Run Lines will have action.
DOUBLE HEADER GAMES TREATMENT:
  1. Game 1 will always be the first game played, and Game 2 will be the game after. In the case that only one game is finished within the 36-hour time span, the game that was completed will always be regarded as Game 1, and all the wagers on Game 2 will become null.
  2. Any wagers on Game 2 will only have action if the two games are played by the same teams inside the 36-hour time span.E.g: A day/night double-header is on the schedule. The earlier starting game is postponed due to rain, and only the later game is played. Bets on Game 1 will apply to the game that gets completed, and bets on Game 2 will be reimbursed.
  3. In the event that a double-header game is scheduled for 7 innings (like it happened in the 2020 MLB season), it must go 7 innings (6.5 if the home team is leading) for wagers to have action and games must be finished, with a winner confirmed:
  4. MLB: By 5 am (in the venue’s time zone).
  5. NCAA, International Leagues & Softball: Inside 36 hours of the original start time, regardless of the stadium.
PARLAYS TREATMENT:
  1. In case that one of the selections is void, a tie or no action in a parlay, the parlay will regress to the lower level payoff. This doesn’t apply to a two team parlay, where a tie goes back to a straight bet.
PROPOSITION: REGULAR SEASONS WINS:

This is a bet consisting on the Over/Under of a team's total winning percentage for the regular season.

  1. The team must play at least 50 games for bets on season winning percentage to have action.
  2. These kinds of bets do not include any postseason games; they’re exclusive to regular season only.
  3. Bets will have action as long as 50 games have been played at least; a team does not have to play all its scheduled regular-season games, as long as they get to the 50-game limit.
  4. The winning percentage shown at the end of the regular season on www.mlb.com will be the one used for official grading purposes.
 PROPOSITION: REGULAR SEASONS SERIES:
  1. Bets on baseball series are based on the first three games completed of each series.
  2. At least two of the first three games of the series must be completed for bets to have action.
  3. If only one of the first three games is postponed, or canceled, series bets stand as written.
  4. If two of the first three matchups are postponed, or canceled, all bets on that series will be classified as No Action and will be reimbursed.
  5. A called game will be acknowledged as a series bet, provided it is officially stated as a regulation game. The 9 inning rule does not apply.
TEAM NAME AND LOCATION CHANGES: (futures have action)
  1. If a baseball team changes its name, future bets placed before the name change will not be affected and will keep having action. This applies to any segment of the name being modified (mascot/logo or the city/region).
  2. For example, if a wager is placed on a team to win the championship, and that team announces that they will use a new mascot before the season starts, the bet stands.
  3. This also applies to location changes if they happen, such as a team moving their home games to a new venue for either a part of or the entire season. In this case, future bets on that team will have action and this is not to be confused with a stadium being modified for an individual game, in which case the different rules apply and non-future bets might be nullified.
  4. Future wagers that cover these rules include (but are not restrained to) teams to win a division, conference, or championship, team season win totals, and individual player awards and statistical achievements.

GENERAL:

  1. Management reserves the right to update any baseball rules, nullify, or revoke bets at its discretion in case of a dispute regarding any misfortunes caused by a force majeure or the Pandemic (Covid-19).
  • When betting on any football game, whether it be college or pro, the game will officially be over after fifty-five (55) minutes of play.

  • Any rules for betting on football that is not covered here will use the Las Vegas Rules as a guide.

NCAA Football Conference Championship Futures Rules

  • If the conference has an official championship game, the winner of the championship game is deemed to have won that conference.
  • If the conference has co-champions, the first team picked by the BCS is graded as a winner, and all other teams are losers.
  • If a conference has co-champions, and no team is picked by the BCS, ALL team bets will be graded as "No action" and refunded.
  • All rules apply for wagering on Tennis.
  • If a player retires or is removed from the match before completion, the wagers will be settled as “No Action”. This includes all wagers such as Money line, spread, total and Set Betting (exact result).
  • For the wager to be official, matches must be played within 48 hours of the scheduled time to consider a wager to be in “Action”.
  • For first and second set lines to be considered action the set in question has to be completed.
  • On all Set Betting the match must be completed for bets to have action.

Tennis Sets Betting:

If a tennis match is not completed because of a player retirement or disqualification, all Set betting wagers will be considered void. Such wagers will be cancelled and the monies refunded.

Example: If we offer Player A (-1.5 sets or -2.5 sets ) vs Player B (+1.5 sets or +2.5 sets) the match must be completed.  If the match is not completed, wagers on that line are void. If we offer Player A to win exactly 2 sets to 1 or Player B to win exactly 2 sets to 1, those lines would be canceled and refunded in the case of a retirement as well.

90 Minutes Play

  • All match markets are based on the result at the end of a scheduled 90 minutes play unless otherwise stated. This includes any added injury or stoppage time but does not include extra-time, time allocated for a penalty shootout or golden goal.

Matches Postponed or Abandoned

  • Any match abandoned before the completion of 90 minutes play will be void, graded as no action, except for those bets the outcome of which has already been determined at the time of abandonment.
  • Soccer kickoff dates and times displayed on our website are an indication only and are not guaranteed to be correct. If a match does not start as scheduled, and does not start the same day, then wagers on the match will have no action and be refunded. The exception being any wager on whether a team advances in a cup competition, or raises the cup, will have action regardless of a suspended or postponed match.

For FIFA World Cup betting purposes, if a match does not start at the exact scheduled time or does not start on the original start date, all bets on that match will stand and will be settled when the game is completed, regardless of the date or time played. Same rule will apply in case a game is postponed or abandoned before the completion of 90 minutes.

Soccer Bet Types:

Asian Handicap or Goal Line

  • Soccer games may have either a Single Handicap or a Double Handicap.
  • Single Handicap: This bet type is similar to a bet on the spread in football and basketball.

    For example:

    - Real Madrid -1 -130

    - Barcelona   +1 +110

If Real Madrid wins the match by two goals or more, Real Madrid bettors win and Barcelona bettors lose. If the match is drawn or if Barcelona wins, Barcelona bettors win and Real Madrid bettors lose. If Real Madrid wins by exactly one goal, all bettors receive a refund.

  • Double Handicap: This bet type splits a wager into two bets, each with the same moneyline, but at a different single handicap.

    For example:

    - Real Madrid -1¼ -115

    - Barcelona   +1¼ -105

A client who risks $100 on Real Madrid actually has two separate bets on Real Madrid: $50 on Real Madrid -1 at -115 and $50 on Real Madrid -1.5 at -115.

A client who risks $50 on Barcelona actually has two separate bets on Barcelona: $25 on Barcelona +1 at -105 and $25 on Barcelona +1.5 at -105.

Three Way Money line or 1x2

  • Money line wagers have three outcomes, you can pick either of the teams to win, or you can pick a draw, all bets placed on either of the teams will be graded as losers in case the game finishes as a draw.

If an alternate driver replaces a driver during the race, then the new driver will replace the old driver in all matchups and props.

Some driver vs. driver match ups may have a handicap. Example ( If Kyle Bush is -2.5 positions against another driver that means Kyle Bush must win that match up by 3 positions or more from where they finish at the race’s conclusion.)

When offering live betting on Nascar matchups, those matchups will be for the entire race.

Rain Shortened Races: In the event weather stops the running of a race and cannot restart, the race is considered complete as long as at least half of the scheduled laps have been completed. If the race has not reached the halfway point, it will be postponed to a later date. Additionally, in the event rain washes out qualifying, NASCAR does not postpone qualifying. Instead, drivers will line up by points or practice results as outlined in the rule book. Therefore all qualifying bets will be canceled and returned.
